Helping our Neighbors Directly

By guest contributor Pete Eyre.

At We Heart West we have a list of activities that we would like to work
toward to help make West Manchester even better. As more individuals choose to get involved, we’re able to tackle more of those items. For example, we just heard from one West Manchester resident who took it upon themselves to do some direct action.

This volunteer provided a change of clothes and some food to another person under the banner of We Heart West. In the words of the donor, “I was exercising at the park and saw a gentleman sitting on the bench nearby. We exchanges pleasantries then had a deep conversation. Upon learning of his situation, and knowing how easily it could be me in
his position, I felt compelled to help. Sometimes life throws you a tough hand and knowing you’re not alone can go a long way.”

This sentiment is what We Heart West is about.
