We Heart Wildflowers Educational Event

We Heart West hosted a craft and garden day at the Parkside Community Gardens. Attendees were given a tour of the gardens along with a short talk about pollinators. People also had a chance to check out the We Heart West pollinator garden, planted to support the vegetable beds. During the event, a few of the gardeners were caring for their plots and had a chance to say hello to visitors.

We Heart West organizers also provided a flower pot painting craft. Kids and adults were able to paint small clay pots and then fill them with petunias. We had a great time hosting this fun and educational event about gardening and hope to have more community events like this next season.

We Heart West volunteers helped the  Manchester Urban Ponds Restoration Program to clean up Blodget Park. The event was very well attended and a lot of trash was collected. We also made contact with Manchester Cleanups, another organization helping to clean up the greater Manchester — consider helping them to clean up your neighborhood.
